Hello world!
My week was defined by the beautiful blooms in my sunflower garden. I have a bunch of photos and videos to review and edit. I might schedule videos to be posted every other week during the winter as a way of gifting future me a bit of sunshine.

🌱 Gardening
The months of hard work in the garden were truly rewarded. I was treated to fresh blooms all week. The flowers have been attracting a steady stream of bees and a few butterflies. I’ve seen a few finches landing on sunflower stalks but they haven’t started eating the sunflower seeds forming in the flower heads just yet. Since it’s been eight days since the first blooms, some flowers are starting to show their age. One of the earliest blooms has the misfortune of being right in the way of the exhaust for the air conditioning unit. That means the plant is regularly hit by upward wind. A few other flowers are starting to droop. Many of these flowers have many heads and the second blooms are starting to open.
Last week’s flowers were all fairly standard sunflowers. This week’s batch showcased some variety with Chocolate Cherry and Teddy Bear sunflowers as well as the first Tithonia (Mexican sunflower).
I was too busy gardening to find time for gaming or movies this week. I don’t mind this at all.
📘 Books
I am extremely excited about having finished Book 4 of Shogun. What an incredible and epic novel!
I keep track of my reading in various places across the Internet. I track every book I read as @bbrie on Hardcover and as brie on Rambling Readers. I also track each IRL Book Club pick.
