029: Deracinate

Hello world!

This week’s word (deracinate) does a great job of describing how I have felt this week. I might have otherwise used a word like unmoored but it doesn’t fit alphabetically. Further, it’s nautical in nature and the sea has replaced my normal environs this week. I didn’t notice it when I first stumbled upon the word but a secondary meaning of deracinate involves stripping something or someone or racial (or ethnic) characteristics.

✨ Meta

I adjusted this site a bit from the original merox-erudite Astro theme to more naturally support weeknotes.

🔖 My Favorite Stuff from the Internet This Week

A lot of my favorite bookmarks were inspired by my visit to Chichen Itza and the writing I’ve done since. I’m hoping to publish what I’ve written over on brie.dev. Regardless, these are the stand-out resources from my research:

📘 Reading

I finished reading Shōgun by James Clavell.

📣 Social Reading

I keep track of my reading in various places across the Internet. I track every book I read as @bbrie on Hardcover and as brie on Rambling Readers. I also track each IRL Book Club pick.

📸 Photography

I was so transfixed by the beauty of this flower that I did not notice the lizard until it moved.

Thanks!
